The Machine Called “Church”

Oh, how easy it is for leaders to see the people as commodities that exists to serve the machine called “church”. – Eric Sanders, “Plastic Jesus”
I have seen the church chew people up and spit them out when they run out of time to give, or ideas, or resources, or even connections. It’s not bad mouthing, it goes on every where.
How easy it is for those who attend a church to feel more like a cog then a person. Maybe it’s the picture perfect persona, or the don’t rock the boat mentality. But if the church isn’t careful it will find it’s self functioning more like a factory then a church. Producing an assembly line of Plastic Jesus’.
All though their Christianity is shinny, it can’t bear the pressure of life. And once they leave the showroom floor and are crushed by the burdens of reality. We come to find their faith had a polished exterior but a hallow filling.
What does it mean to follow Christ?
What are the prices that have to be paid?
Are we really willing to be different, to live different, to talk different?
Or are we just looking to fit in?

Actually I have no interest in fitting in……oh, wait, everybody already knew that.
